I have sort of been in a blogging funk as evidenced by this last week. I’ve had some issues with the internet and getting things to actually post (any other WordPressers having this issue?) and it sort of took the wind out of my sail.
Anyway, Shawn is coming over to get Cohen for the day and I don’t have to work… although I should spend the whole day cleaning my house, I think I may go on a blogging marathon.
So if you are still reading, get prepared
There was a day when I was very “in the loop” with sister Beth’s music. Now, apparently she can record tracks for a CD I don’t know exists until someone hands me a copy. Case in point:

My brother Aaron handed this to me on a recent visit to Ohio and I have been listening to it non-stop since. You can read more about this project and buy the CD for yourself here.
Mac Powell, Shane Barnard, Aaron Shust, Beth, and others recorded these tracks along with an African Children’s Choir and I promise even though you’ve heard these songs a million times before, it will bless you in a new way.
Everyone I know who has children has had the same experience I have with Cohen… Co likes music as do most kids, but he goes NUTS for this album! Every time we get in the car, he wants it on and then he just sings his little heart out! I think there is something special when children hear other children singing. If you have kids, I bet this will quickly become their favorite cd too!
And yes, Jeff Foxworthy speaks at the end- weird fit, huh? That’s what I thought too, but what he has to say is really great (I swear, this cd is “your mama” joke free!
)

I am always looking for great music, I will have to check it out. I just recently downloaded Phil Wickham’s “sing along songs” and its excellent.
I think “funk” is hitting everyone lately. I’m gearing up for the holidays or else it will barrel over me.
Have a great day to yourself, those are the best days, especially when you’re a mom of a toddler!
Take care,
Julie
Ooh, yay for a blogging marathon! Just what I need on this quiet Monday morning.
And if you’d like a good laugh or just a break from writing, check out today’s post on my blog. It’s funny. Now. Not as it occurred, but now.

Yay, blogging marathon! Go for it! You can do it. I believe in you…
I am definitely going to have to check that cd out. I am always looking for new music and this sounds like it’s right up my alley.
I’m so glad you posted this, Kate! I was able to hear this choir in Atlanta about a month ago! They have so much energy. It was such an awesome opportunity to watch these children sing praise to our Father. They can quote scripture like nobody’s business and dance with such joy! I cried as some of them shared their life shattering stories. …and we think WE have problems!
Go to http://www.heyjackradio.com to hear about some of these children. These children have been involved with an organization called The 410 Bridge, which helps connect groups in the United States with groups in Kenya! It’s an amazing organization. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!
I love to see HIS name made famous throughout the nations!
Oh I am totally going to go out and buy that! Did I ever tell you that we are praying about adopting a little boy from Africa?? The kids would LOVE to hear this cd.
Thanks for the idea…
Is there a way to listen to excerpts of songs on the choir’s Web site? Would love to get a glimpse of their music!
These kids were just at our church this weekend. They left this morning and I think they definitely took a piece of my heart with them. This CD is amazing!!
And, about the blogging funk. . . I haven’t blogged in almost 1 month. I can’t get into it. I don’t know what my story is!
Is there a digital download available for purchase anywhere? I usually don’t buy the physical cd. Love my itunes!
