I wanted to know that I randomly stumbled upon your blog..and I gotta say, thank you.
God blessed me with a WONDERFUL guy three months ago, and i thought i was on the road to marriage. The relationship, i know was the Lord’s plan for us at that time. But out of no where He took it away. I realized I had underestimated HIS power, He has the ability to take away what He gives us.
I expected this break up to break me and send me in a familiar spiral of broken heartedness I experienced before…but instead of the pain I have hope. It’s weird, and I can’t explain it…but as you said, it shows me that He is and has been working in me.

The lyrics you posted were told to me right after the break up by my friend…and have spoken to me SOO much since. The Psalm as well!

I love how Tozer explains Faith in his book “the Pursuit of God” (Finding the Divine in the Everyday)

“Our plain man in reading this would make an important discovery. He would notice that ‘look’ and ‘believe’ were synonymous terms. ‘Looking’ on the Old Testament serpent is identical with ‘believing’ on the New Testament Christ. That is the LOOKING and the BELIEVING are the same thing. And he would understand that while Israel looked with their external eyes, believing is done with the heart. I think he would conclude that FAITH IS THE GAZE OF A SOUL UPON A SAVING GOD.”

It is good to see your Gaze so focused right now….

How true is it that when we think that we have finally found our footing God can take the rug from beneath our feet. We ask for Him to help us grow and too many times when he does we complain and wither. I pray that God continues to bless you and that you are able to continue to feel God’s hand holding you every new step. I know how true the statement of when it rains it pours can be. With God’s help we can keep on singing in the rain.

I truely admire your strength/courage/faith/wisdom/optimism/real-ness
