Okay… so you know its uber cold when you walk 10 feet to your car and by the time you get there all of your nose hairs are frozen. When I say its a cold day here in Ohio, people, I mean COLD. And I am going to refrain from complaints because today the sun (oh, the glorious SUN!) is shining. Even as a cold-weather-hater I can admit today is a pretty (albeit, uber cold) day.
This is going to be a post of asides, but I promise something meatier is coming… its just still stewing inside me…
So I don’t have a TV anymore which means the only “TV” I watch is the season dvds the girls upstairs have and I watch on my computer… and I mostly fall asleep to them. Therefore, its been months since I watched The Office. So I was unaware that dear old (Christian? wasn’t she Christian?) Angela had become a two-timing…cheater (that pause indicates the fact I would like to use another word, but am refraining). There is nothing about even fake-TV-cheating that is funny to me, so I was glad that at the end (*spoiler alter*) they both decide to dump the said…uh.. cheater. Although the cheating plot line failed to amuse me, I had to laugh when Dwight said, “Your threats are vague and do not scare me” to Andy… leave it to good ole Dwight to make me chuckle even when I was trying to have no-laughing-strike on the storyline. Anyone else watch?
Today has been a rather funny day at work. For one, I showed up at the wrong building for the training I am supposed to ‘babysit’ and I got a call from my coworker saying “uh where are you?” to which I promptly felt like an idiot. Luckily, all 20 of the teachers (including the therapist who was to be training) minus 3 were later than I was. I had this fear I was going to walk into a full room where everyone was tapping their pencils and watching the time and wondering why in the world they hired me. Once I got the media all set up (this included me having to lend my work computer since the projector wouldn’t recognize the therapists’) the school principal came in and announced that someone in a Honda Accord Wagon had parked in front of the fire hydrant and needed to promptly move their car… yep, that was me. So I moved my car, finished my babysitting tasks and headed back to my office. My other computer wasn’t recognizing the wireless signal so I had to climb under my desk and try to plug in the ethernet cable behind my desk… and suffice it to say, how anyone ever plugged or unplugged any wires there is beyond me… so I was contorting myself all over trying to get the stupid thing plugged in when I heard a snap!… and sure enough my office roommate, Shawn, had taken a photo of the little predicament I had gotten myself into. Thanks, friend. I have two words for you: pay back.
I was told at work today by Coworker Shawn that I am ‘feisty’- guess the honeymoon is over *grin* I am just wondering how in the world it took them that long to figure that out!?!?
I am going to have a full weekend, but I will be checking in and maybe even blogging a lot. Not making promises, but there’s a good chance, friends…. because Sunday I am at training an hour away all day long… well I am actually only teaching from 9-10:30a and then 6:30-9p so I am going to have a few hours there in the in between open, although I have to stay. So if the hotel the conference is at has wireless, I am all yours 🙂
I am excited about training, but sad it fell on this weekend. My cousin Emily is getting married tomorrow so Aaron and Beck (bro and sis-in-law) and sister Beth are all in town for the weekend…and on the one day I have open to chill, I will be gone at work from 6a-10p. Figures, doesn’t it?
I am super stoked for the wedding though- its going to be beautiful and no one is my deserving of that then my cousin Em, who is one of the most godly women I know. Aren’t she and Daniel adorable?
Pray that there’s no more snow that everyone who wants to witness their union tomorrow can make it here!
One last thing and then I have got to get going… I am excited that you all are open to having a discussion on predestination/free will/Calvinism. I can see that it will be spirited and I am going to make sure that no matter how ‘lively’ it gets, it also stays Christ-like so everyone can feel safe enough to share.
While I am preparing (and you know I was last night) I thought it would be a good idea for me to have some idea of where everyone is coming from. So, if you have a moment and if you are planning to be a part of the discussion, I would love for you to weigh in on this poll…
