I haven’t done Tastebud Tuesday in awhile…mostly because I do not have my own kitchen to cook in. I love Mom but she’s not one who likes to cook. (translation: all my stuff is in storage and she has none).
Wednesday evening a friend came over, so I cooked… first time with this killer recipe and it was so easy and turned out so well, I just had to share. So, pretend its Tuesday, ok? *grin*
Marinated Tuna Steak
Nutritional Info: 200 calories/ 7.9 g fat
Total time: 50 min (including marinating time)
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp chopped fresh oregano
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
4 (4 ounce) tuna steaks
Mix all ingredients in a non-reactive dish. Wish them together well (you can also run through the food processor to liquify the garlic- will give garlic a stronger flavor in the dish). Add the tuna steaks and turn to thoroughly coat with the marinade. Cover the dish and let it stand in the frig for a minimum of 30 min.
Preheat grill to high heat.
Put steaks on the grill for 5-6 min, then baste with marinade, flip to the other side and grill another 5-6 min.
**I actually baked the fish because I am scared to light the grill myself (true confessions). I baked it on 350 degrees for about 20 minutes in a shall baking dish and left the marinade in it.
