First thing yesterday morning at work I sat in a meeting with my coworkers planning our big Christmas Party for the kids in our respective programs. Then Cohen’s preschool has monthly meetings for parents, which are usually focused on parenting skills so that parents can be on the same page with the philosophy of the school. Last night the topic was “Handling Holiday Stress”….
…I know the point was relieve stress for parents, but sitting there it began to occur to me how much there is to do and how little (like, none) of it I have done at this point. For a girl who does not like to think about Christmas (at least) before Thanksgiving, I was inundated yesterday!
Whew! The Holidays are around the corner, aren’t they?
So I wanted to take a second to share with you a few websites/ideas that I think will help make your Christmas Season more meaningful (and maybe less stressful too):
Love All, Give More, Spend Less, Worship Fully
RETHINKING CHRISTMAS: find a ton of great, inexpensive gift ideas here!
WORLD VISION GIFT CATALOGUE: Great gifts you can give to someone in need, ranging from $10 to multiple thousands (like $39k).. having spent time in South Africa and Zimbabwe with World Vision, I cannot say enough about how well run and effective this ministry is!
One thing my family does that I love is that we siblings exchange names and only have to give one smaller gift…and we write a letter for the person whose name we got… simple and meaningful 🙂 What are some great traditions your family has?
